What, or who were Ushers?
The words "loved by his Usher and Master" are mentioned in the Nursery Rhyme, but who or what, were the Ushers? The Ushers were first mentioned as junior masters or senior pupils who taught the rudiments of Latin to younger pupils at the Elizabethan Grammar School.
